| THE
British Forces Foundation Trustee Katherine Jenkins has launched the
Charity's Lap of Honour project. She was the first of 50 British icons
to sign the car as it embarked on a ten month adventure around the country
collecting autographs and the backing of 100 companies.
It was at The Royal Military Academy Sandhurst on June 11th this year,
that she launched Mini Lap of Honour by providing the first signature
onto the vehicle. She was a special guest at the Stanford Charity Polo
Day in aid of The BFF, attended by HRH Prince Harry.
.
The 50 icons signing the Mini represent the British elite in all spheres
and the list includes everything from acting to sport to politics. As
well as signatures on the car, an accompanying album of photographs
will also be signed. Both the car and album will then be auctioned off
together following The Royal Albert Hall concert at the after-show party.
A minimum of 100 selected major British brand names are being asked
to donate £1,000 as a pledge of support to the men and women of
the Armed Forces. Their commitment will be acknowledged throughout the
campaign as it spreads across the country and there will even be a limited
edition magazine to commemorate the project.
The BFF Mini Lap of Honour is more than just a fund-raising event for
the Charity or a focal point to mark 10 years serving the Armed Forces.
It is a celebration of the link between British companies, eminent celebrities
and serving personnel. The very act of demonstrating support will send
a clear message of solidarity to those on the frontline, which will
in itself be a significant boost to their morale.
