ROCK legends Status Quo and
comedian Jim Davidson wowed more than 10,000 British servicemen, women
and their families with an unforgettable open-air concert in Germany. This outstanding British Forces Foundation event,
in association with Direct Car Finance, was thunderously received by
the crowd who lapped up first class entertainment absolutely free. The Bad Lippspringe venue, the glorious weather, the
top rate line-up and fantastic atmosphere combined to produce a gig
to remember. Legends of rock, Status Quo, belt out hit after hit
during the British Forces Foundation concert . Jim kicked off the show
and acted as compere throughout. His popularity among British forces
was clear for all to see. He introduced comedian Clive Cooper whose routine
proved a real hit, and the glamorous singers God's Gift then took to
the stage. After the interval the evening belonged to Status
Quo. Their truly professional performance was as infectious as it was
energtic - and the crowd simply loved it. These rockers sang hit after hit including Caroline,
Rocking all Over the World, Down Down and appropriately
In the Army Now. They finished their set with a medley which
set the fans alight as well as the British Forces Foundation's spectacular
firework finale. The patriotic band were delighted with the reception
and said they were only too happy to play at the concert for free because
of their greatest respect for Jim and their belief in the charity. Director of the British Forces Foundation, Mark Cann,
said: "It was a fantastic night for everyone and especially the
BFF which once again got its teeth into what we are here to do. "I struggle to think what we can do to better what we have achieved with this event. We have now set ourselves high standards and our only major concern is meeting those standards and raising the necessary money."
